Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) trains people to respond when traumas arise which affects the department or community on a large scale such as hurricanes and tornados. CISM prepares people to work with peer to peer and group events. CISM courses are not meant to be counseling sessions, rather the "EMS of mental health", focusing on assessment, listening and making recommendations for counseling if needed.
Resilience Enhancement and Leadership Model (REALM) is an evidence-informed skills building training focusing on the 3 realms of resilience: personal, interpersonal, and organizational. With a look at stress and trauma and the impact on the mind-body connection, this program teaches skills to help get back to and stay in a resilient zone.
